CTTLS Training course (Certificate in Teaching)

The Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is for anyone working in an associate teacher role without a recognised qualification, or planning to become an associate teacher in further, adult or continuing education.


This course will help to give you an overview of an integrated approach to theory and practice in teaching.  During this course you will discover principles of learning, assessment teaching, and evaluation. In addition to this you will and develop an awareness of your professional role and responsibilities as a teacher / trainer.


The course is delivery through online packages this includes all our comprehensive manual. On average most people would be looking to complete the course within 3 - 5 months of starting the course. Any person who is choosing to start this course must be currently training or teaching. If you are in the Hairdressing or Beauty therapy/ Massage / Make Up Industry we can arrange teaching hours (this will be an extra cost £249+ vat)

Course Structure

      • There are 4 units, including PTLLS:

        Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector (PTLLS)

        Unit 5 (Ctlls)- Delivering lifelong learning- 4 Credits
        Unit 6 (Ctlls)- Assessing learners in lifelong learning- 4 Credits
        Unit 7 (Ctlls)- Planning to meet the needs of learners- 4 Credits
        Unit 8 (Ctlls)- Using resources for lifelong learning- 4 Credits


Assessment is via submission of written and other programme task evidence and through practical teaching observations.

You need to have evidence of 30 hours of teaching and 3 of those hours are to be observed.

If you already have this system in place where you work, we can use copies of those observational reports.

Alternatively we can come out and observe you which is included in the course price.

How can I book this course? Just choose a date from our forthcoming dates and then pay your deposit and we will book you onto the course.


What is the deposit for this course? 25% of the course price (inc vat) which needs to be paid upon enrollment to secure your place and enable us to send out your documentation.


When does payment need to be made by? You can pay the remainder of the course fees within 1 week of your course.


Is there a payment option available with this course? Payment for each unit may be made separately however payment for each unit must be made 5 working days prior to the unit start date.


What can this course lead to?

Successful completion of this course allows you to progress onto the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
